Perth house auctions move to Sundays, weeknights

PerthPERTH home sellers are turning to Sundays and weekday evenings as a secret auction weapon in a slowing property market.

While Saturday has traditionally been WA’s busiest day for auctions, vendors are now experimenting, putting homes under the hammer on Sundays, and even Wednesday and Tuesday evenings.

Figures from CoreLogic RP data show a spike in the number of Sunday auctions in the final three months of 2015, with more than 100 taking place.

The number of Wednesday auctions also increased, with Wednesday, December 16 a big day for auctioneers, when more than 30 homes went under the hammer across Perth.
